New players for the new season are edging more and more onto Steven Pressley's agenda.

And Jim McAlister is believed to be on the Falkirk manager's list of candidates for next season.

He can play on both sides of the park in midfield and defence, as demonstrated in displays against the Bairns for Morton and Hamilton.

But though the boss has been casting admiring glances no firm offers have been made for the versatile wide man according to club sources.

Another Falkirk suggestion has focussed on defender Craig McKeown. The Dunde centre-back was rumoured to be interesting Pressley, but with Darren Dods already signed The Falkirk Herald understands any interest is highly unlikely to ignite a move.

The Bairns boss ran the rule over a trialist on Tuesday at the Falkirk Stadium.

The forward - recommended by Farid El Alagui - played in a 2-1 closed doors win over Kilmarnock.

Left-back Liam Dick opened the scoring in the first half and was joined on the scoresheet by Jordan White who was particularly impressive for the Bairns.
