Rory Loy inspired rampant Falkirk to an important win which re-ignites the Bairns’ title hopes.
Gary Holt’s men now sit four points off co-leaders Hamilton and Dundee, but crucially after Loy’s hat-trick plus strikes from Craig Sibbald and Blair Alston, the Bairns are one goal bette roff in the goal difference column.
That may prove vital if the Bairns are to overhaul the teams above them who will have to dent their goal difference and points tally in such a scenario.
Falkirk got what they wanted too with Martin Boyle and Mikael Antoine Curier exchanging goals at New Doiuglas Park for a draw between Hamilton and Dundee.
That wouldn’t have mattered had the Bairns not done the business and they started early with Loy netting twice early on.
Cowdenbeath rarely threatened and were impeded further when the imposing Nat Wedderburn was forced off.
Blair alston added the third for the Bairns as they cruised to half-time and further goals from Loy to complete his hat-trick and one from Craig Sibbald gave them a comfortable victory.
