Botti Biabi is expected to join English Premier League side Swansea City within the next 48 hours.
The Falkirk striker has had a medical with the Liberty Stadium club and a deal is very close.
Peter Houston confirmed the posiiton after his side’s 1-0 win over Raith Rovers, where Biabi was not present.
“He’s had his medical but that’s all we know at this stage,” said the Bairns boss. “But we do believe a deal is close.”
London-born Biabi joined Falkirk from amateur football in greater Glasgow and forced his way into the first team, coming off the bench in last season’s Scottish Cup final and winning the free-kick to level against Inverness Caledonian Thistle.
Last season, goals against runaway league leaders Hearts also prompted him to be called up to Ricky Sbragia’s Scotland youth set-up.
While Biabi is preparing to depart the Falkirk Stadium, the Bairns have recruited Ryan Sinnamon on-loan from Rangers after makeshift right-back Aaron Muirhead, covering for injured Kieran Duffie, was also struck down by injury in training yesterday.
