As referees clamped down on Peter Houston’s dugout-wear, Rudi Skacel’s gear was also falling foul of officialdom.
Well done to the 400 plus fans who turned out for the Under 20 game between Falkirk and Swansea. A good technical game and some nice touches.
It will be interesting to see how many of the Swans side make it all the way to the top team.
Thought their No 10 Tom Dyson looked a good prospect.
RODGER(s) AND OUT
Apologies for referring to the Bairns keeper last week as Andy. The President of the Honourable Company of Andies, and FFC Director, Andy Thomson pointed out the error. It should of course have been Roy Rogers. Thanks to Andy for Trigger-ing my recall.
Going into last Saturday's games all the teams in Falkirk's section had a chance of progressing. Computers at the ready- goal difference could be crucial. In the end, it was not to be and the Goal Fairy gave Stirlingshire a body swerve. It gave the pre-season a bit of a competitive edge and was much better than a string of meaningless friendly games.
PUBLIC BROADCASTER- RESEARCH OPPORTUNITY
There is a vacancy for anyone who knows anything about Scottish Football with the BBC. Some of their howlers are amazing. Luca Gasparotto is a Falkirk signed player. He is NOT on loan from Rangers.
NIT-PICKING OR WHAT?
Rudi Skacel is prohibited from coming on as a sub for Raith Rovers against Alloa because his cycle shorts are black and should have been the same colour as his white shorts.
What are we coming to?
The man is a cad and a scoundrel.
So Steven Pressley is on the move again. There are few managers/coaches who split opinions like he does. In an interesting interview many months ago, a respected journalist concluded that he had either been in the presence of a visionary or a pretender.
After Coventry and Fleetwood, it will be interesting to see where his next posting is.
His side had lost all four of their opening pre-season Friendlies and Steven Pressley had signed ten new players.
The bookies are never wrong?
The four Scottish leagues will be won by Celtic, Hibs, Alloa and Clyde. Every year, The Benchman places an accumulator - including all the English leagues.
I stand to win a million pounds if they all come in. My selection includes Falkirk at 7/1- and I promise to buy all the squad a drink if my dreams come true. Just the one mind you.
SOMEONE ELSE'S BIABI
What a difference a year makes. Botti looked a bigger, stronger and fitter young man.
He showed some nice touches too and only time will tell if he makes it all the way.
Last week's mystery man was Sammy Wilson- the last Falkirk player to score at Wembley. Falkirk played Morton in Rowan Alexander's Testimonial.
From which club did Falkirk sign George Miller?
Match rating: 5
Team rating: 7
