Falkirk directors held their monthly meeting on Tuesday instead of today, and the change of date was not the only unusual element to the meeting.

The board discussions were performed over internet video conference as the UK went into lockdown and many worked from home. Among them were the Bairns directors who discussed the ongoing issues affecting Scottish football.

Little has changed with the shutdown of the season but club chairman Gary Deans told The Falkirk Herald among the talks was an appreciation of the well-wishes.

He said: “The support we’ve had from fans has been fantastic and I’d personally like to thank everyone at the club for the hard work and support they’ve given to me and the board – they’ve all just gone above and beyond what you’d expect - it’s been fantastic.

“The support the fans can give us at this time, emotionally as well as financially, at the moment is huge.”

He re-iterated his statement from last week and added: “We will have to, at some point, ask them to buy season tickets and strips and to financially support the club – but we don’t need to come to them at the moment if we manage it as we plan to.”
