Lee Miller signed on for another six months at Falkirk on Tuesday, and his partner up-front John Baird is also close to extending his Bairns career.
Miller penned an additional six-month deal to take him to the end of the season with Falkirk, the club where he made his name as a teenage striker.
But strike partner Baird – whose current contract runs until the end of the season – is about to add a year to his deal.
Boss Peter Houston explained: “With John, and it’s the same case for Aaron Muirhead, it’s when he hits the trigger number of games that the contract automatically extends by a further year.
“If they haven’t passed it then they’re very close to passing it – and I won’t be keeping them out the team any time soon!”
The boss added: “It’s also important to keep Lee’s experience. He’s done well for us since coming back here.”
Houston did however concede a contract offer to Luke Leahy remains on the table, unsigned.
He told the club’s shareholders at last week’s AGM an offer had been made to the defender, and he is keen for the Englishman to stay and develop as a left-back with Falkirk.
