Another Crawley bid in the bin

Falkirk are clinging on to their prize asset

Falkirk have thrown out an improved offer for Farid El Alagui from suitors Crawley Town.

The nPower League Two team slipped off their perch at the top of the table at the weekend and made an improved offer of around £70,000 for Falkirk’s top scorer.

However, although it was an improvement from the ‘derisory’ £30,000 offer a fortnight ago, the offer has still been dismissed by the Bairns, and falls short of their valuation of the 21-goal striker whose contract ends this summer.

Crystal Palace have also been credited with an interest in taking the player on, as have Aberdeen.

Meanwhile offers have yet to be submitted for Murray Wallace, though Ipswich, Swansea, Charlton, Norwich Brighton and Huddersfield all remain interested in the centre-back.

The Falkirk Herald understands Jack Compton is on the verge of sealing a switck to the SPL with St Johnstone.

A deal returning the winger to England with Rotherham has fallen through.
