Falkirk FC launch 'Bairns Brains' programme to help parents with homeschooling

Falkirk FC have launched a new video campaign to provide fun but educational content to help parents with home schooling.

Every Monday morning over the next three weeks a new ‘Bairns Brains’ video will be uploaded.

These light-hearted but educational videos will ask Falkirk FC related questions across the subjects of Numeracy, Geography and Spelling.

Aimed at Primary School aged children, Bairns Brains will be hosted by our very own stadium announcer and voice of the football club Dave Mac, who will give the videos his own unique spin.

From sneak peaks behind the scenes at the club to throwback goal videos the content will span many different areas to keep the Bairns entertained as well as educated.

The first Bairns Brains was uploaded last Monday, February 1, and is available on the club’s Twitter and Facebook, as well as the Falkirk TV YouTube channel.

The videos will be available all week, so don’t worry if you have an online class with school at the time.

Falkirk FC Commercial Director Kieran Koszary said: "We know home schooling can be tough for both parents and Bairns, so Falkirk Football Club are here to help.

“We are fully aware how difficult it has been for parents and Bairns out there over the last month.

"As a football club we are looking forward to providing some educational fun over the weeks ahead to hopefully help take away some of that strain.

"All the kids will need is a piece of scrap paper and a pen, so sit back and let Mr Mac take over the schooling for a short while.”

Falkirk co-manager Lee Miller added: “I’m in the middle of home schooling my troops at the moment so I totally understand from personal experience how difficult it can be for parents, carers and kids in these tough times.

"That’s why I’m delighted to be supporting our new Bairns Brains initiative.

"Hopefully you enjoy the videos and the content and learn at the same time.”

The first lesson focused on the subject of Geography and included questions such as identifying the country and capital city of Portugal based on the national flag – Portugal of course being the home nation of Falkirk cult hero Pedro Moutinho.
