Ex-Stenny boss Smith enters the Hall of Fame
Mr Smith, the chairman of the League Managers’ Association, is a trusted and respected figure in the game and was recognised for his continued association with the game which now extends into its’ sixth decade as both a player and most notably, as manager.
“It is a wonderful honour,” he told The Falkirk Herald. “It really was unbelievable and I was delighted to accept it.

Hide Ad“When you see the names and faces in the hall of fame, it’s really quite overwhelming.”
Smith now joins his good friend Billy Bremner in the gallery of greats, as well as many other notable figures throughout Scottish football history.
“Billy died when he was 54 but he’d have been delighted to see it too.
“It was lovely for my wife Janis and all the family and to share the evening with so many colleagues and friends. I was proud to do it while with Falkirk.

Smith, born in Cowie, started his managerial career on October 4, 1969 with Stenhousemuir and is now currently technical director at Falkirk FC and Academy ambassador at the Forth Valley Football Academy based at Stirling University.
Also inducted to the hall of fame on Sunday were Jock Wallace, Gary McAllister, Stevie Chalmers and John Wark.
