Though Falkirk LFC Reserves finished the season on a high with a 14-1 win over Dunfermline, they said farewell to headcoach Alison Mackie and veteran Diane Harkins.
It could have been worse though, as after 14 seconds the Fife side had opened the scoring after a defensive error from the kick-off.
However Falkirk were level within a minute through midfielder Nicole McPhee and within 10 minutes she had netted a hat-trick.
Rachel Donaldson also hit a treble to add to Rebecca Robertson’s goal for a half-time 7-1 score. Goals came from Taylor Johnston, two more from Donaldson, and Diane Harkins plus Robertson completing her hat-trick sealed second spot.
The team scored 106 goals this year and only lost two games in the league to finish a point off top spot.
As well as Karkins’ and Mackie’s retiral Sunday also saw the presentation of the Scottish Womens Football player of the month award for September to Nicole McPhee.
