All three local sides have been handed home ties in the first round of the Scottish Communities League Cup.

The draw took place at Stenhousemuir’s Ochilview Park - which East Stirlingshire share - at lunchtime today.

It was performed by First Minister Alex Salmond and paired the Warriors with Brechin City while Shire are due to meet Morton.

Falkirk will open their cup challenge with a game against Elgin City at The Falkirk Stadium.

Matches are due to take place on August 4, but some rescheduling will obviously now be required.

The Scottish Government is renewing its sponsorship of the tournament, with funding support of £1.7m. The full draw is:
