The striker’s sizzling form for East Fife in League Two has seen him notch 16 goals this season, including 14 in the league – one off current top scorer, Elgin’s Craig Gunn.

That caught the eye of the Bairns boss who snapped up the hitman today, but allowed Austin to return back to the Methil club until the end of the season.

That means he can play the second half of the season with his brother Jordan who has also signed up at New Bayview.

Peter Houston said: “Nathan is a young, promising player who has an eye for goal and is a large part of our plans for the future.

“It is important he goes back to East Fife to continue his development and his fantastic scoring run.”

The signing of the 21-year-old is the latest good news for Bairns fans. On Wednesday, Conor McGrandles arrived home, on-loan, from Norwich.
