With The Bairns leading 1-0, courtesy of a first half penalty from their top scorer, the on-loan Ross County striker was given his marching orders by referee Grant Irvine in the 70th minute after he was deemed to handle the ball on the goal line to keep out Russel McLean's diving header.

It was followed by a massive let off for Falkirk as Robbie Mutch brilliantly saved McLean's resulting spot kick and the home side were able to hold on to the win and three points.

However, they will now go in to this Saturday's match against Clyde at Broadwood without their leading marksmen.

Thankfully though the suspension will only be for one game and McManus will be available for selection again in time for next Tuesday's crucial league fixture at Stark's Park when first meet second in Ladbrokes League 1 as Raith Rovers host the Bairns.
