Following a meeting of the East of Scotland board last week, a suggestion is being put to member clubs to follow the decision of leagues higher up the Scottish football pyramid, such as the SPFL and the Lowland League, to conclude the season on a points per game ruling.

The East of Scotland clubs – which include Premier league leaders Bo’ness United, Camelon and Conference side Dunipace – have until noon tomorrow (Friday, April 24) to register their vote.

If the clubs agree to conclude the campaign in this way, Max Christie’s BU would be pronounced EOS champions, with Lothian Thistle Hutchison Vale declared winners of Conference ‘A’ and Tynecastle winners of Conference ‘B’. m

There will be no relegation to the EOS from the Lowland League this season, but as it stands there has been no clarification over promotion to the division either.

A spokesman for the league told The Falkirk Herald there was no proposal for relegation within the East of Scotland leagues, so that as few clubs as possible would be disadvantaged, however the two Conference winners would still make the step up.

If the recommendation is not accepted, there may be another opportunity for more talks at the end of the month when an extraordinary general meeting is planned to discuss new member applications.

Eyemouth have already indicated they are ready to step into the leagues again.

All three local East of Scotland sides, as well as East Stirlingshire and Stenhousemuir are taking part in the donate a ticket scheme.

Almost £24,000 has been raised for 56 clubs so far with Stenhousemuir and the BU in the top ten for funds accumulated and the Warriors and Shire ‘selling’ enough tickets to enter that category’s top ten.
