Camelon put eight past Tynecastle in emphatic win ahead of historic Scottish Cup tie

Camelon Juniors picked up an emphatic three points at Carmuirs Park on Saturday with a thumping 8-0 win over Tynecastle.

The win, which takes them up to fourth in the East of Scotland Premier Division table, saw six different scorers with two players netting for the first time as well as a five minute hat-trick.

Greg MacPherson got The Mariners off to the perfect start after just ten minutes and Ryan Kane doubled their advantage shortly before the 30 minute mark.

They took their two goal advantage in to half time and wen’t 3-0 ahead on 58 minutes through Alan Docherty.

Ten minutes later and Greg Skinner made it 4-0 before Mark Stow netted the fifth one minute later.

Ross Allum got in on the scoring in some style when he netted his first of three on 77 minutes before firing home a further two inside the next five minutes to make it 8-0.

"We were excellent, everything just clicked.” said Camelon manager Gordon Herd.

"Tynecastle were maybe a bit under strength but I don't think that takes away from our performance, their play was excellent and they carried our instruction to the world. A really pleasing victory.

"We said to them at half time at 2-0 up we wanted them to be a bit more ruthless.

"The confidence was already up in the team and it will give them an extra confidence boost going into a very difficult game on Saturday.

"We will be underdogs but I think that will suit us and the Scottish Cup is always just about who turns up on the day. "
