Camelon Juniors confirm former Bathgate boss as new manager
Camelon Juniors FC have confirmed that former Bathgate Thistle manager Andy Colley will take over at Carmuirs Park following the departure of Gordon Herd last week.
Colley, a former youth coach with Hearts and Stenhousemuir, left his role with the Jags to takeover at Carmuirs Park.
He will be joined by assistant manager Davie Strathie who was with him at Bathgate.
Camelon chairman Gary Clark said: “Their combined depth of experience and qualifications coupled to an established and impressive reputation now provides Camelon Juniors Football Club with an excellent opportunity to develop and move forward.
"Once approached we had little hesitation in reaching a decision to appoint. Both Andy and Dave are highly focused, professional and possess an unrivalled attention to detail.
"They are aware of the job they have on their hands going forward and I wish them all the success in trying to achieve this."
Colley, commenting on Twitter, said: “Over the weekend I had a call from the Bathgate Secretary saying Camelon Juniors wanted a chat about their managerial vacancy, after a chat with the club I accepted the position as manager, Davy Strathie, Chris Binnie and former player Derek Johnston will be joining me.”
The appointment comes amid an ongoing investigation at the club surrounding allegations which have been made over the past three weeks.
A number of members have staff have left their positions with The Mariners while the players have publicly stated they have no confidence in the current committee.
