Brown believes in better for coming campaign
Stenhousemuir kick off '˜for real' on Saturday when they travel to Brechin City for their opening League One fixture.
Last season Warriors boss Brown Ferguson set his squad a 10 points per quarter target for the campaign, but this term he hasn’t set a specific goal in terms of points - he simply wants his side to be better.
He said: “We’ve given the players a presentation on what our aims are. That will remain in-house but basically we want to improve and be better than last year.
“It’s always important to get off to a good start, albeit there will still be a lot of football to be played whether you get off to a good start or a poor one.
“But if you can get points on the board early that gives you confidence and belief to take into the rest of what will be a long campaign.

“Brechin have had a reasonable campaign in their Betfred group and beat a Premiership side in St Johnstone and are a big, strong side so we know it’s going to be a very difficult game.
“But there has definitely been progress over the four Betfred games and that should give us a lot of confidence for the season ahead.”
Other than veteran Jim Paterson, who has a back problem, Ferguson should have a full squad to choose from at Glebe Park.
