Bairns show Hibs they have big match mentality
The Hibees midfielder questioned if Peter Houston’s team had any big-game players in the build-up to the clash.
And by the end the Bairns had answered him – twice over. When the going got “tough” as Will Vaulks put it, the Bairns got going and delivered a stunning comeback.

“I think we answered a few questions and there’s been a bit in the press from them but I suppose the mind games didn’t work and we stood up to it.
“At 2-0 down after giving away a penalty we showed our character.
“We are never beaten – ever. We’ve shown that loads this season. We’ve given away late goals but we’ve scored a load too, and that, at the end, it’s the best feeling in football really, especially with all the fans. They were all going mental so it was brilliant.”

“We are never feeling we are beaten,” Vaulks added.
“When the penalty went in I thought ‘this is tough now’ but I spoke to the ref and there was still ten minutes, and added time. We had 15 minutes and that’s plenty time for us to score two goals.
“From then we went for it, dominated and got the equaliser. It’ll be a tough one for Hibs to take, but brilliant for us.”
David McCracken started the fightback, but conceded the penalty and was at fault for Hibs’ opener. He still had a reply for Fyvie too.

“But we’re in a really good position. They need to win those games in hand. I’d rather be in our position than theirs.”
