Bairns seal deals to land duo

Falkirk last night sealed the deal for James Craigen to become a Bairn, and also landed Liam Henderson from Hearts.

Craigen, who faced the Bairns twice in the SPFL Premiership play-offs, agreed a pre-contract with the Bairns earlier this year.

The ex-Partick Thistle midfielder is seen as a potential replacement for Blair Alston who moved to St Johnstone last week. He played for Raith Rovers last season, scoring a bizarre goal against the Bairns at The Falkirk Stadium earlier this year.

Craigen’s professionalism was never in question with games against the Bairns which were crucial for his club in the run-in.

After one he said: “After the move was announced I spoke to the gaffer (then Raith boss Ray McKinnon) and I think I still did well, but it was sod’s law [Raith] went on a run and a lot came down to the final games and one was against Falkirk!

“The lads in the tunnel were winding me up a bit about it but I’d be doing the same if it was the other way round!”

Henderson can play left-back or in midfield. He had been training with the Bairns late last season along with Sean McKirdy.
