Before that we look back at 13 players who have turned out for both the Jambos and the Bairns.
The current Falkirk co-manager had two spells with the Bairns as a player and made 18 appearances for Hearts during a loan spell from Bristol City in 2005. The keeper began his career with Hearts and joined Falkirk in 1999 after loan spells with Airdrie and Hamilton Accies. He made over 100 appearances for the Bairns before leaving in 2002. The current Dundee United manager spent ten years with Hearts from 1999 to 2009. He made his way to Falkirk for the 2012-13 season before finishing up his playing career shortly after. The former Falkirk club captain left the Bairns to join Hearts after they were relegated from the SPL in 2010. He is currently assistant manager at Annan Athletic. The wide man had a brief loan spell at Hearts from Fulham in 2001 and spent a season with Fakkirk in 2003-04 where he made 31 appearances and scored three goals. The former Scotland Under-21 keeper spent seven years at Hearts where he began his career and had a season with Falkirk in 2014-15. The Sky Sports pundit had two spells with Hearts between his time with Rangers and Southampton before a season with Falkirk in 2008-09. The right back began his career with Hearts and made his way to the Bairns in 2014 after two loan spells at Raith Rovers. He currently turns out for Falkirk's League 1 rivals Stranraer. Another Bairns manager who represented both club, 'Elvis' is a club icon at Tynecastle and ended his playing career with Falkirk in 2009. The third and final keeper on this list, Nelson moved directly from Hearts to Falkirk 1996 after two seasons at Tynecastle. The striker turned out for ten different clubs in Scotland during his career including Hearts from 1986 to 1992 and Falkirk from 1997 to 2000. James began his career at Falkirk in 1993 and moved to Hearts from the Bairns in 1999 where he went on to make only 14 appearances in two years. The defender started off with Hearts from 1997 to 2002 and made his way to Falkirk in 2005 after representing Cowdenbeath and Partick Thistle.
