Falkirk RFC will kick off their south westerly season at home to the West of Scotland.
The club learned their dates for the new season’s calendar this week in the newly restructured leagues.
Of course, they’ll approach term 2012-13 with Bob Wyllie solely focused on touchline and training ground coaching duties - as The Falkirk Herald exclusively revealed last month.
He brought his squad together on Tuesday night for the first pre-season training session ahead of August’s big kick-off.
Within the coaching changes is a new head coach for the Sunnysiders.
Mark McKenzie makes a return to the club and president Alex McQuade says the time is right for the re-organisation at Cala Park.
“I have always said that every club has its level, we have come a long way over the past 10 years or so from National Division 5 to Premier Division 2.
“ Over the past year we have realised that and it has been time to review our situation.
“When we were in the National Leagues we were successful with player coaches but we were simply just better than our opposition , but at Premier 2 standard that’s not enough , hence the coaching reshuffle and Mark coming in as head coach.”
The playing personnel is also turning over and several new players from Australia are having their switches to Sunnyside finalised this week.
Another four new faces are due to make a switch to Falkirk before August 25 .
Falkirk’s second XV have also learned their fixtures in the Midland League Three East. They kick off against Bannockburn on September 1.
