McGill was in great form top scoring for the Scots with 18 points in one of their matches against a very strong Irish National side. Ellis Walker, one of several promising Fury point guards at this age group played well throughout his competition again against talented local opposition.

Fury had four players in Scotland’s U11 squad – George Henderson, Leo Serafini, McKenzie Gray and Ben Adams, all part of last season’s Fury U10 side, who were National Challenge runners-up.

Fury have now a record 75 u 12 players in their squads highlighting the massive basketball activity in primary schools in the Falkirk area.

Two of the local circuit’s exports – Kieron Achara and Jonny Bunyan have been involved in Glasgow Rocks’ play-off push.

The Rocks just failed to turn around an 11 point deficit to Sheffield Sharks and agonizingly missed out on an appearance in London by six points. Twice in the dying seconds former Fury star Bunyan tied the game overall but the Sharks edged out the Scottish side to reach the Play-Off Finals and will play Leicester Riders.

Bunyan who had scored a team high 22 points in the first leg in Glasgow had played his best game of the season when he went five from five from two point range and four from six from three point range to keep the Rocks in contention for the second leg. Rocks Captain and former Fury star Kieron Achara received some comfort despite the semi-final loss when he was named in the British Basketball League’s Team of the Year.

Another former Fury star will however be at the O2 this weekend – 27 yr old Gillian Baird’s Nottingham Wildcats side will contest the WBBL Play-Off Finals against Nothumbria.
