They have only been going for just over a year but the new Falkirk School of Gymnastics Competition Club have made major strides in the last 12 months.

Head coach Fiona McKenzie took a very good team of young coaches to The Scottish Floor and Vault Championships at the Bells Sports Centre in Perth; Kristin Wheeler, Stuart Callahan, Ailsa McLuckie, Emma Webster and Dayna Lipski supported by Judges Jane Ainslie and Lyndsay Penman and a total of 22 gymnasts.

The competition format was a two piece competition on floor and vault. In the beginners competition where no previous medal winners were allowed to compete, Falkirk eight-year-olds Hollie Howland, Megan Allardyce, Hayley Flemming, Hannah Clark and Sophie Meffan won the team silver medals with Hollie Howland winning the individual Silver.

In the nine-year-old age group Abby Marshall, Erin Swanston, Alexandra Ross, Abbie Ewing and Mia Logan also won silvers.

In the 10/11 age group Lucy Dillon, Mya Reidy, Imogen Shields and Maisie McMillon won the Team Gold Medals with Lucy Dillon winning the individual bronze.

In the 12 + age group Kara Ewing won the individual Bronze. In the Intermediate 10/11 age group Louise Bryant, Emma Allan and Zoe Paterson won team silver with Zoe Paterson winning the individual team Silver.

Not in the medals but also scoring highly were Nikola Palka, Caitlin Bell, Gemma Smith and Ailie Brown.
