Ali hails Keith and coach John Bunyan for basketball career
The 27-year-old plays for the Radisson Red Glasgow Rocks and during a Q&A session with his club named headcoach John Bunyan and Sony Centre Fury captain Keith Bunyan as two big influences on his game.
He said: “I started in primary school. I was big and tall and became good friends with Jonny [Bunyan]. His dad and brother Keith both put a lot of time and effort into helping Jonny and I get better.

Hide Ad“I got into basketball when I was younger to lose weight mostly. I was always big and my parents made me try lots of sports but basketball was what I enjoyed.
“The Bunyan family as well as coaches at Falkirk Fury were really influential in me becoming a basketball player.
“The person who really worked with me and helped was Keith Bunyan.
“He took me and Jonny to the gym, helped us work on becoming better athletes and really pushed us.”

Hide AdFraser has since represented Scotland at the Commonwealth Games and was a key player in the Rocks’ league-leading season which ended early and contentiously, without a British Basketball League title to show for it.
