Lloyds Banking Group has confirmed it will close 56 of its branches across the UK this year. Lloyds, Halifax and Bank of Scotland branches are among those set for closure.
The banking group said the closures come as part of its store reduction programme which was set up in response to a consumer shift towards online banking.

Changing customer behaviours
The most recent announcement is a continuation of the bank’s closures programme, which affected a number of Lloyds and Halifax sites in 2019.
In a statement, a Lloyds Banking Group spokeswoman said, “We have confirmed that a number of branches will close between April and October this year.

“In addition to our branches, all our customers can also use the Post Office to access their banking locally, alongside our mobile branches which visit many rural communities.”
