The eighth Love the Lido saw dozens of children, parents and grandparents flock to Crownest Park for a family fun day focused on celebrating and learning about the wildlife and natural habitat at the much-loved asset.

Held last Saturday, the event featured an array of animals and activities.

Plenty of pooches entered a dog show, while there were also owls and even meerkats there to soak in the party atmosphere.

Organisers laid on bouncy castles, dancers, stunt bikers, a face painting stall, an ice cream van and a hidden painted rock challenge.

Police, fire crews and action mascots also gladly accepted an invitation to the fun-filled day.

A pondlife interactive workshop and a birds of prey demonstration attracted a steady stream of visitors throughout the event.

Love the Lido organisers thanked all guests who turned out to show their support.
