Scotrail are now offering a limited service and trains will run between Endinburgh and Glasgow via Falkirk High.
A statement on their website reads: “We’ve introduced a limited half hourly service between Edinburgh & Glasgow via Falkirk High.
“This departs Glasgow at 00 and 30 mins past the hour. Departs Edinburgh at 15 and 45 mins past the hour.”
Earlier this morning no trains were running through Falkirk due to extreme weather conditions.
Scotrail said: “Lines need to be tested to check if they are safe. We will aim to reintroduce services on a limited number of routes if it is safe to do so.
“The Met Office’s weather warning is now yellow. But there remains a lot of snow around and drifting snow in some areas.”
Advice from both the Met Office and Humza Yousaf, Scottish Government Minister for Transport, is to travel only if it is necessary.
