Youth tells jury he was raped by Bo'ness man

The teenager, who was 14 at the time of the alleged sexual assault, gave his evidence in a pre-recorded video at the High Court in Livingston today.

It is alleged Robert Gill (41), of Stewart Avenue, Bo’ness, who is facing 17 charges of abuse involving young boys, used the alias of Robert Hunter online.

Speaking through tears the schoolboy, now 15, said: “He basically had sex with me. He wouldn’t let me go. He wouldn’t listen to me. I was crying for him to stop and he told me to shut up.

“When it finished he just walked away and left me. He told me: ‘Tell anyone and I’ll kill you’. I felt scared, I felt embarrassed.”

He claimed Gill had “French-kissed” him during an earlier incident and had plied him with herbal cannabis, resulting in him getting “so stoned”.

He admitted telling police that the accused, who had “hundreds of weed”, had taken intimate photographs of him on a mobile phone.

The day after the alleged rape he said his mum got a phone call from his best pal’s mum to say their sons had both been sexually abused by Gill and the police were called.

Asked why he hadn’t told his mother what had happened, the youngster said: “He said if I told her he would kill her then I wouldn’t have a mum and dad.”

Under cross-examination, the youth denied making up a story to get Gill arrested.

Gill faces a total of 17 charges involving under-age boys at addresses in Edinburgh and Bo’ness between April 6, 1993 and February 5, 2015.

They include four counts of lewd, indecent and libidinous behaviour, three of sexual or indecent assault, two of rape and one of intentionally causing a 15-year-old boy to engage in sexual activity.

The charges include having “an unnatural carnal connection” with a boy who was aged between 12 and 14 and raping the same youth after supplying him with the drug when he was aged between 13 and 15.

Gill is also accused of taking photographs of youngsters when they were naked, and possessing and distributing indecent photographs of children via Facebook.

The jury heard earlier that police found dozens of indecent pictures, including still photos and videos of boys aged between eight and 12 engaging in sex acts, on a computer taken from Gill’s home.

Gill is also charged with being concerned in the supply of cannabis to six of the teenagers and producing the Class B drug at his Bo’ness home in February this year.

Gill denies all the charges. The trial before Lord Glennie continues.
