Yorkshire terrier stranded in middle of River Carron
The Scottish SPCA is seeking the owner of a dog who was stranded in the middle of the River Carron.

Scotland’s animal welfare charity was alerted when a member of the public spotted the blue and tan Yorkshire terrier stuck on an island in the centre of the river.
The island is located directly underneath a bridge near the Checkbar roundabout in Bonnybridge.
The dog is now in the care of Bandeath stray dog shelter in Stirling.
Animal rescue officer Ashley Griffin said: “Community safety officer Paul Crawford waded into the river to rescue the yorkie.

“The dog is male, around one to three years old, and was wearing a rusty, orange coloured collar.
“He was a little frightened at first but is doing well.
“We’d like to thank the kind man who helped rescue the dog and hope that we can reunite him with his owner soon.”
Anyone who recognises the dog is being asked to contact the Scottish SPCA’s Animal Helpline on 03000 999 999.
