Woman hit by car in Carronshore

A woman was hospitalised after being hit by a car in Carronshore.

Police say the woman, whose age has not been confirmed, was struck by a vehicle in the village’s Webster Avenue shortly before 5pm yesterday.

She was transferred to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in Glasgow by an air ambulance.

The woman’s condition is not known at this time.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: "Around 4.50pm on Thursday, May 14, police were called to a report of a road crash on Webster Avenue, Carronshore where a woman was struck by a car.

“Police inquiries are continuing."
