Serving up fabulous food and giving great service will see one restaurant lift a prestigious new award.

The top 10 nominees for The Falkirk Herald Outstanding Restaurant of the Year can now be revealed.

This is a new category introduced for The Falkirk Herald Business Awards 2011.

It gives establishments across the district the chance to be involved in the popular event which recognises excellence in business.

Discerning diners have the chance to vote for the eating place they consider offers the best food, excellent service as well as value for money.

The Falkirk Herald Business Awards are once again being sponsored by The Royal Bank of Scotland, while Forth Valley College is a strategic partner.

Set up in 2007, the awards quickly became an important accolade for the business community across not just Falkirk, but Forth Valley.

Falkirk Herald editor Colin Hume said: “We have always enjoyed a good response from a wide diversity of businesses, both large and small, but this year thought the time was right to introduce another category to highlight the important role that the hospitality industry plays in the area.

“This is also a great opportunity for our readers to get involved and have their say on who should win this honour.”

The nominees are:

- Antonio’s Restaurant, Grahams Road, Falkirk

- Auld Toll, Dalgrain Road, Grangemouth

- Casa Espanola, Grahams Road, Falkirk
