A landmark Falkirk business is up for sale.
James Leckie in Melville Street has been an established shop since it first opened its door to customers in 1964.
Originally set up by its namesake as auctions rooms to sell surplus stock, it was taken over by his son Jim, who went on to run it for over 40 years.
He retired last spring and it was acquired by Stephen Carr who, after a some refurbishment, has been running it since.
Now Stephen has decided the time is right to put it on the market. A new lease is available with the purchase of the business, although he would consider a free hold offer for the property which includes the business centre above.
Stephen said: “When we started out our idea was to improve it and bring it in line with a modern businesss. We’ve achieved that and increased the turnover.”
The property is being marketed by Cornerstone’s Edinburgh office.
