Welcome to the trains of tomorrow
However anyone who is curious to see what the next generation of electric trains will look like will have to make do with a full-size model, which has newly gone on show at Edinburgh’s Waverley Station.
Meanwhile Glasgow’s Queen Street station will next month be the scene of major rail improvement works to accommodate the new trains.

The mock-up carriage, on show at Waverley until Friday, March 4, features a standard and first class saloon equipped with the actual seating and tables that will be used in trains from next year.
Transport Minister Derek Mackay said: “They will be larger, faster and greener and will allow passengers to travel in greater comfort than ever before when they are rolled out across central belt routes later next year.”
More seats will be available at peak times too.
