Wedding of the Week: Stephanie Di Placido and Richard Duncan

THE COUPLE: Stephanie (28) is a nursery nurse with Falkirk Council and Richard (29) is an audio visual technician with Tapestry in Falkirk. The couple live together in Larbert with Richard's eight-year-old son Richard.

HOW THEY MET: Richard met Stephanie in 2012 while out in Falkirk. He said: “I saw her at a table and just started speaking to her.”

THE PROPOSAL: Richard got down on one knee on St Andrew’s Day and proposed by the big Christmas tree
in Glasgow’s George Square. Stephanie was the last to know, as Richard asked her dad’s permission and also told her mum before popping the question.

THE WEDDING: The couple were married on July 11 in Govan Old Parish Church. The reception was held at the Loch Lomond Arms Hotel. Richard said the day was brilliant despite the rain in the evening.

THE WEDDING PARTY: Best man was Richard’s friend, John McMillan and chief bridesmaid was Stephanie’s friend from college, Donna Martin.

THE HONEYMOON: The pair spent two-and-a-half weeks in Turkey, visiting Calcan, Fethiye and Istanbul.
