Wedding of the Week: Rachel MacLagan and John Blackhall

Rachel is from Shieldhill and John is from Bonnybridge. The couple live together in Stenhousemuir.

HOW THEY MET: Rachel and John met through a mutual friend. They knew each other from their days at high school but lost touch before getting together a few years later.

THE PROPOSAL: John proposed on a boat trip to the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney theme park in Florida. “It was a complete but happy shock, I had no idea about it,” Rachel said.

THE WEDDING: Rachel and John were married on September 17, 2016 at St Francis Xaviers Church in Falkirk. They were joined by 90 day guests with a further 30 at night at Forrester Park Resort, Cairney Hill in Dunfermline. “Couldn’t have wished for a better day,” Rachel said.

THE WEDDING PARTY: John’s best man was Jay Toye and Rachel’s bridesmaid was lifelong pal Emma McQueen. Flower girls were John’s little sister Tabitha and niece Sinead.

THE HONEYMOON: The happy couple jetted off for a ten-day holiday to the Dominican Republic.

THANKS: The couple would like to thank their parents, the bridal party and usher Sean – Rachel’s brother.
