Wedding of the Week: Nicole Wheatley and David Wilson

THE COUPLE: Nicole (27) is an admin assistant with HMRC in Cumbernauld. David (27) is a badminton coach. The couple live together in Bonnybridge.

HOW THEY MET: The pair met ten years ago when they were both 17 and working in Cumbernauld Asda. Nicole said: “At first I thought David didn’t like me but he asked me out and I said yes.”

THE PROPOSAL: Just after they moved in together, the couple were putting up their Christmas tree. David put up a bauble with the words, will you marry me, on them and also a ring box hanging decoration with a wedding ring inside.

THE WEDDING: The couple were married on December 4, at The Vu in Bathgate. Around 120 people attended the ceremony with a further 30 enjoying the reception. Nicole said the day was perfect, just a bit windy.

THE WEDDING PARTY: David’s best man was his brother Graham Wilson and Nicole’s maid of honour was her best friend Lynne Adam.

THE HONEYMOON: The pair jetted off to Florida for one week and a Caribbean cruise for another week.
