Wedding of the Week: Holly Nicolson and Lyall Didcock

THE COUPLE: Holly (31) is an administrator with CMS Windows and Lyall (36) is an assistant manager with Calor Gas in Grangemouth. The couple live together in Shieldhill with their three children, Logan (10), Jacob (7) and Isabella (3).

HOW THEY MET: The pair met through friends while on a night out in Stirling back in 2003.

THE PROPOSAL: Lyall got down on one knee in the couple’s house while the children were away on holiday. Holly said: “I sensed it coming but it was still a nice wee surprise.”

THE WEDDING: The couple were married on January 16, at Orocco Pier in South Queensferry. Holly described the day as perfect. She said: “It was a long time coming having been together for 13 years.”

THE WEDDING PARTY: Lyall had two best men, Graeme Chapman and Ewan Mitchell. Holly had her cousin Stephanie Short as her chief bridesmaid. Their two sons were ring bearers and daughter Isabella was a flower girl.

THE HONEYMOON: The couple spent a few nights in Blythswood Square following the wedding and are planning a summer holiday with the whole family.
