Wedding of the week: Charlene Carr and Grant McBride

Charlene Carr (31) is from Bainsford and is a support worker, while Grant McBride (33) is from Stenhousemuir and runs his own tiling business. The couple stay in Falkirk.

HOW THEY MET: They met ten years ago on a night out in Falkirk but didn’t go out until years later. They were together a short time before deciding to go travelling. They spent a year in Australia which Charlene says was the making of them.

THE PROPOSAL: It was Valentine’s night 2015, Grant decorated the flat and cooked Charlene a nice meal before spelling out his proposal “marry me” with balloons. She was shocked and delighted.

THE WEDDING: The couple were married at St Francis Xavier in Falkirk on May 25. They had 90 guests and a further 60 at the evening reception at the Beancross. Charlene says everything was perfect.

WEDDING PARTY: Gordon Bayne and Jaimie Neil were best men. Amy Carr was maid of honour, Coleen Carr, Holly Weir and Laura McBride were bridesmaids, Robert Wilson and Daniel Bell were ushers and Ben Penman was a page boy.

HONEYMOON: The couple spent a magical ten days in Sensatori, Crete.
