The wedding of Lyndsay Barr and Paul Currie
HOW THEY MET: They first met at the fireworks display in Callendar Park on November 5, 2004.
THE PROPOSAL: The couple were in Edinburgh for the annual Hogmanay celebrations in 2011. As the fireworks heralded 2012, Paul dropped to one knee and popped the question. Lyndsay said: “We were going on a cruise that year and everyone thought he would propose then. I think he got wind of that and decided to do it before then.”
THE WEDDING: The couple were married on November 15, 2014 – 10 years to the day since they first started going out. The ceremony took place in St Andrew’s West Church with over 100 guests before a reception at the Macdonald Inchyra Grange with another 50 friends joining them in the evening.
THE WEDDING PARTY: Best man was Paul’s friend Aaron Paddon, while chief bridesmaid was Lyndsay’s sister Rachael. Her cousins Claire, Danielle and Stephanie Barr, along with Paul’s niece Caroline McLaren, were bridesmaids.
THE DRESS: Lyndsay wore an ivory one-shoulder gown with a jewelled belt.
THE HONEYMOON: The couple enjoyed 10 days in Jamaica.
THANKS: Thanks go to parents, Susan and Gregory Barr, and Libby and Pat Currie, and the Rev. Alastair Horne.
