New flood alert now in force for Falkirk

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) has this afternoon issued a new flood alert for the area that includes Falkirk.

It does not predict flooding on a similar scale to last weekend’s conditions, when amid other local problems the River Carron burst its banks.

However it says heavy rain could lead to a risk of minor surface water and river flooding, adding: “Impacts may include flooding to low-lying land and roads, with difficult driving conditions”.

SEPA advises residents to remain vigilant, adding: “Remember it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property.”

The Floodline quick dial number for this area is 23100.
