There’s also a Met Office Yellow warning for wind and rain across the area until 8pm tonight.

However while heavy rain is expected to continue into Sunday the area isn’t so far in the same league as those where severe warnings are in force.

Nevertheless disruption to travel and difficult driving conditions are “possible”.

A spokesperson said: “Remain vigilant and remember, it is your responsibility to take actions which help protect yourself and your property.

“Advice and information is also available through Floodline on 0345 9881188”.

A spokesperson for ScotRail said: “Given the severe weather expected, it’s very likely that there will be some disruption across the network.

“Please plan ahead and consider the weather forecast in your area before travelling.

“Our colleagues from Network Rail are working to ensure the network is in a good condition, ahead of the storm arriving”.
