Heavy snowfall across central Scotland caused delays for travellers this morning.
Falkirk Council said all main routes through the district were clear and had been gritted overnight, but urged motorists to take extra precautions as many other roads still have a covering of packed snow and ice.
Secondary roads are expected to be cleared this morning, and the district’s more than 1000 grit bins will be replenished.
Traffic on the M80 southbound is reported to be slow moving due to tailbacks around junction seven at Haggs.
ScotRail said that most services were running well despite the snow.
All Falkirk district schools, libraries and council buildings are open as normal.
