WATCH: Fears for safety of rough sleeper after roof collapse at Falkirk farm

Emergency services sped to a farm in the Falkirk area following reports of a roof collapse in a derelict building where a rough sleeper may have been staying.

The incident happened earlier this afternoon at Craigieburn Farm, just off Lochgreen Road, when the derelict Craigieburn House collapsed.

Police officers, fire crews and ambulance staff were on site at the incident, located near the well known Canada Wood restaurant.

A command centre was set up and emergency services personnel were said to be concentrating their efforts around the derelict property opposite Greenrig car park.

There were fears a local rough sleeper may have been in the building at the time of the collapse.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Officers were called to support colleagues in the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service following a report of the roof of a farm building falling down in the Lochgreen Road area of Falkirk on Friday, December 4.”
