Was Westie stolen to order?

Ken Whitelaw thinks the five-year-old Westie was stolen on July 10 after local reports started to circulate of a man stopping in the street and asking about the family pet.

With the loss of Molly, her one-year-old puppy Maisie is distraught.

Ken, (56) said: “Maisie is nowhere near her self. She is only a year old and she knows nothing other than being with her mum.

“She now follows me around everywhere and she is clearly really down without Molly, nothing like her normal bouncy self.

“It has never happened before.

“The two dogs were on the doorstep at around 2.45 in the afternoon.

“I called them in as usual and Maisie appeared right away. But Molly didn’t come and when I went out to investigate there was no sign of her.”

Appeals using social media have been launched in an attempt to find the lost pet who disappeared from the family address in Panbrae Road, Bo’ness.

Inspector Chris Stewart from Grangemouth Police Station said: “We are currently conducting inquiries into the disappearance of a West Highland Terrier from outside an address in Panbrae Road, Boness on Friday 10th July.

“Anyone who remembers seeing anything suspicious in the area, or who has information as to the dog’s current whereabouts is asked to come forward or call Police Scotland on 101.”
