Update: Bo'ness rooftop fire

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service (SFRS) were quickly on the scene of a blaze which broke out on the roof of a block of flats in Bo’ness.

The incident happened just after 2pm on Sunday at the premises in Links Road, when residents were forced to leave their homes for a short time.

Fire crews from a number of appliances cordoned off Dock Street, while firefighters battled the blaze three storeys above and shoppers from the nearby Lidl store looked on.

An SFRS spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 2.02pm on Sunday, January 24 to reports of a fire at a property on Links Road, Bo’ness. Operations Control mobilised three appliances and one aerial rescue pump to the scene.

“Firefighters extinguished the fire which was affecting the roof of a three-storey block of flats. Crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”

Thankfully no casualties were reported following the incident.
