Unsung heroes recognised during Volunteers' Week

Falkirk's volunteering centre is encouraging people to get involved in good causes ahead of a week of celebrating unsung heroes.

Starting next Wednesday, June 1, Volunteers’ Week showcases the range of activities and services people bring to their local communities to make a difference and enhance lives.

“Volunteers’ Week is a fantastic opportunity to thank all volunteers,” said Victoria McRae, CVS Falkirk operations manager.

People across the Falkirk area volunteer in so many different ways, and while we realise that many don’t want any recognition, the least we can do is say thank you.”

Volunteering can take as little or as much time as people have to give, using different experiences and skills while gaining new ones.

CVS is also urging people to take part in the #VolunteeringIn3 initiative, ‘What does volunteering mean to me?’.
