Union Canal closed following breach between Polmont and Muiravonside

A section of the Union Canal has been closed after heavy rainfall caused a breach near Muiravonside.

Scottish Canals has confirmed its teams are on-site to take “necessary steps” to redress the issue, brought about by last night's downpours and thunderstorms.

Members of the public have been asked to stay clear of the affected area 500m east of the A801 between Polmont and Muiravonside until further notice.
