Over half-a-million pounds is being invested to improve the carriageway and paved areas on the M9 between Sandyford and the River Avon.

It is hoped this work will reduce future maintenance, improve the carriageway and strengthen pavements adjacent to the carriageway to the benefit of around 15,200 vehicles which use this southbound route each day.

Amey will start work on this scheme from 8pm on Friday, November 25 until 6am on Monday, November 28. The work requires a full closure of the M9 southbound carriageway for the extent of the works, with a contraflow system operating on the northbound carriageway.

In addition, the work requires the full closure of the M9 Junction 4 southbound on slip road with a signed diversion route in place. Traffic intending to use the on slip road will be diverted northbound on the M9 to Junction 5 and back again to join the southbound M9.
