Major disruption on the trains

A broken down train has caused chaos on the rail lines across central Scotland this morning.

There has been disruption on all routes which is expected to last until 11am, but longer for some routes.

Trains are running around 50 minutes late on the Glasgow-Edinburgh Falkirk High line, while delays are expected to last until the afternoon on the line running through Falkirk Grahamston.

Some trains are not scheduled to stop at Larbert, Camelon, Falkirk Grahamston, Polmont or Linlithgow at the moment.

The Scotrail website said: “Due to a broken down train earlier today between Haymarket and Edinburgh train services through these stations may be subject to disruption on all routes.
