M9 slip road to close for resurfacing work

A motorway slip road in Grangemouth will be closed to traffic this weekend to allow resurfacing work to be carried out.

The northbound exit road from the M9 at junction five will shut at 7 p.m. on Friday and reopen by 6 a.m. on Monday.

Traffic will be diverted past the M9 Junction 5 off-slip and will continue on the M9 (northbound) carriageway until junction seven where it will be directed to join the M876. The diverted traffic will then loop back on itself at junction three of the M876 joining the M9 (southbound) at junction seven before exiting at the M9 junction five (southbound) off-slip onto Cadgers Brae roundabout.

A detailed consultation process about these works has been undertaken with Falkirk Council and Police Scotland.

The £245,000 project has been commissioned by Transport Scotland to ensure the 20,000 or so road users travelling this route each day are assured of greater journey time reliability and comfort.
